Bally Twenty One Overlapping Cards
« on: November 15, 2021, 01:18:57 PM »
Hello all,

I have a Bally Twenty One blackjack machine with an interesting problem. The cards displayed on the monitor overlap or superimposed on it self. See picture. All other areas of the screen are fine. The booking meter page is fine. It shows a copy right of 1986 and has V2363-5 on the tag as well as 217 on the second line of the tag. Initial prom test is as follows:

Prom Test
5-119
4-160
3-180
2-213
1- 93
0-112

I know it needs a battery because all bookkeeping meters go to zero upon restart. I can't find any information on a replacement battery. The battery is a Double barrel button cell. Is it nicad or nimh? Any help would be appreciated.

Ray

I forgot to mention this machine has the 3 stack board and I reseated the ice chips as best as I could. Upon initial startup cards are displayed across the top and bottom of the screen and they do not display correctly as well. Same overlap you see in the picture....just more overlapping from side to side.

The battery is NiMh
The overlapping cards is probably the monitor, try adjusting it.
There is a jumper option on the board to install a LiIon battery.

Email me and I can send you a couple of sheets on the wiring and setup options.
I do have a complete set of schematics and a Bally 3 card PC board tester if you need it checked.
