Title: Converting the internals of the monitor
Post by: Shammuu on May 06, 2021, 12:32:58 PM
So I bought these off Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084NWYRX4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0PTEKZHPB9FQV5N99HYS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084NWYRX4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0PTEKZHPB9FQV5N99HYS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

I hooked them up to 8 liners that have a VGA output and they work fine but when it goes through the CRT to VGA converter it doesn’t work it will either say signal is out of range or just plain out no signal. I’m guessing it’s because of the signal conversion is why it’s messing up. Has anyone tried this or have any thoughts on how to make these work?

These boards appear to take in VGA,DVI, HDMI and output to a raw LCD panel.

A commercial LCD monitor would already have a board like this inside of it.

A old video game would output in CGA at 15khz or 30khz @ 640x320 and you would need a CGA to VGA upscale convertor before it would go into the VGA port of this board.

The following link has a CGA to VGA board.

I know they have this board already but my issue is that i have some driver boards and backlight drivers that are bad so these would be a nice replacement. I have the converters already but i don’t think they are good enough for the newer boards. But that guide had a different converter that i was looking at already so I’m gonna try to give it a go and see if i can get it to work.
