Title: invalid system time
Post by: wade on August 23, 2017, 08:47:26 AM
Hi,

IGT S 2000 reels and video.  Asking to "invalid system time." The OK button on the screen will not activate. Machine has not powered up to get to the menu. Game was in working order. Both Battery's have good voltage.

  Anyone know.  Thanks Wade

You said video is this a Reel Touch or Vision type machine?
Is the invalid time message on the vfd display or the monitor?

The battery in the top box is dead.
You will need to open the top box and replace the coin battery.  Then you will need a computer keyboard with the small ps2 plug. Plug it into the outside of the top box in the purple socket. When the top box starts to boot press the delete key on the keyboard to get into the bios screens. Set the time and date. Then "load optimized defaults" and save the bios settings. Turn off the machine and unplug the keyboard.
Reboot the machine and you should be good to go.
You probably did not have to clear or key the lower MPU but since you did you will need set the machine up again. Note the touch screen only works in game play all navigation must be done using the panel buttons like any other S2000 the top monitor will display the navigation but it is not a touch screen.

Wade,
Glad everything is back working.
If you haven't done this before please follow the recommendations in the following link while the machine is operational.
