Title: Ceronix 1490 Vertical Position
Post by: 63mini on December 11, 2017, 11:13:08 AM

I have a ceronix 1490 that I am unable to adjust the vertical position (V. Ras) low enough on the screen using the remote. This monitor has just had a cap job but, that didn't seem to help with the problem. I also tried a different remote. Any suggestions as to the cause?

If I increase the vertical size the top part goes off the top of the screen.

That's not bad. I've had the worse. If your game has the plastic bezel for the monitor that won't be seen. There are a couple EPROMs on the board that could be causing it, or #192 which I believe is the Vert., output.

You might be able to adjust the positioning of the deflection yoke on the crt slightly to move the image downward a bit, then adjust the screen vert position pot to center the image. If you try this be careful, there are high voltages present in that area. Sometimes on a crt yoke there are rubber wedges for making these type of adjustments. Don't move anything drastically, and don't move anything horizontally, just do minor downward movement and then check to see the effect.

Always remember - even with power off the crt has a very large stored voltage. Don't mess with the anode connection (the large wire that connects to the side of the crt glass underneath a thick rubber covering)
