Title: S6000 current error 83F0
Post by: Superboyscout on January 29, 2018, 02:26:43 PM
I have a 2004 blazing 7's with coin gear I bought a couple years ago. One day I turned it on to see error 8100 which I determined was a dead battery. The place I bought it from offered to make it work again for a reasonable price but that required me to drag it out of the basement and make a 4 hour round trip. I decided to fix it myself. I replaced the battery and attempted to clear it with the chips I bought. I'm pretty sure (not positive) I put the clear chips in backwards on my first attempt as the labels end up upside down when installed correctly. Installing them correctly for certain the second time yielded the same result as the first attempt where I get nothing displaying on the front with them installed.

Based on what I've been able to establish after searching the forums I think it is most likely that I destroyed the clear chips on the first attempt and will need new ones to get back up and running. I read about old version clear chips that could cause this if I did happen to install them correctly the first time. There was another about  turning on sw8 on bank 1 if I happen to have the right mains but all the switches on bank 1 are already on. Yet another implied maybe I didn't wait long enough for the clear to happen.

Before I spend any more money or screw anything up worse I was hoping to get some advise from the experts.

Thanks in advance!

Did you , turn on Dip SW8 (rest should always be off) , hold in the test and pseudo coin buttons, turn on power then watch the door for CHC CLC?
Then turn power off, replace chips, turn off DIP SW 8, then turn power on, leave the door open until you see flashing numbers after the reels stop doing their seek.
See attached on how to treat chips.

Wayne has a good video on Youtube on performing a RAM Clear.  You will need to do the full clear so hold both buttons.

I haven't messed with any of the dip switches as I was confused by the fact that they all appear to be on (see picture) and the clearing instructions I had did not mention doing it. Otherwise I performed the procedure as described but never saw any numbers at all until I reinstalled the mains and saw error 83F0. I have seen the video below but thanks for posting it!
