Title: Switching chips between boards
Post by: Caliwebman on February 17, 2018, 01:26:45 PM
Hi all, just wondering, can I take the game chips from my white ice MPU and plug them into my RWB MPU board? In the attached pic the upper board is my s2000 RWB and the bottom board is my s2000 white ice MPU. AM basically trying to see if the White Ice chips will function in my RWB machine.

Thanks,

Scott

Those chips are interchangeable.

SB and SGs are the only ones that would need swapped.

Do what you want but I would only swap the SB. Those SG363s are best on the 50X board & 598s on the 1270 board. SG363s will cause reel tilts at boot up on the 1270. You will need to have a key chip on hand if you do swap the SG chips. You can swap the base chip only, clear errors with the key & test switch & you're good to go. You will however have to reset the enhanced sound settings to your preferences.

Yeah .. do what RB said.

I forgot about 363s causing problems on the 1270 board.
