Title: WMS UNI-750-1 Power Supply
Post by: Tacman on February 11, 2014, 08:18:42 AM
For two weeks i have been working on repairing the WMS UNI-750-1 power supplies for the bluebird 2.  There seems to be more to just replacing the exploded transistors and U206 and U205.  Need help (https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnewlifegames.net%2Fnlg%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2FEmoticonHelp4.gif&hash=658bfaa641b98b9cdb9782c8f6f1b6b40a116c70)

The symptoms (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=13025.0#) of the power supplies that have the exploded Q5 and U206 on control board, these are the components that will need to be replaced.  the major problem is, all the power supplies blow different but this is a start (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=13025.0#).
Main Board: U1, D5, D17, D18, D20, D21, Q5, R4, R2, R123
Control Board: U204, U205, U206, Q2, Q4, Q5, D3, D4, D5, R41, R85, R86, R87, R88, R89, R113, R114
Worst power supply to work on.  It takes about 3 to 4 hours to work on one.  Good Luck. Found a schematic to look at.

On the side board, IC UCC28513Dw needs to be replaced a lot.  Also, the 8pin IC ( 3845B ) will go pretty often as well.  These do suck to work on.  There are like 3 diodes and transistors around the IC ( 3845B ) that will blow out too. Then after that, you must replace the 4 outputs located on either side of the large heat sink that sits in the middle of the main board.  Sometimes, the 3 legged fets in between those outputs blow out too.  Like I said, they are not fun to do.  I have overhauled these units before and repalced damn near everyhting....only to put them into the game and have it blow out again.  You win some...ya lose some.
