Title: 1996 round top 5x pay S+ machine
Post by: JPjackpot on January 27, 2021, 07:50:54 PM
Hello everyone, I was a member on this group about 10 years ago but had Bally machines then. So anyhow I have picked up the my first IGT game over a year ago from a guy that never had it working. I finally decided to trying to see what all is wrong with it and if it is worth fixing. First off I bought a new battery before I even took it out of storage only to find out the battery had been dead long before I got the machine and has destroyed the board and also dripped down to the mother board. The Bill acceptor has been removed along with the complete progressive system. Oh and I need a coin comparator because the one in it I can not figure out what it even is. I don’t really need a Bill acceptor but not sure what to do about the clear area in the top glass where the progressive screen was. Also has anyone refinished the exterior of the cabinet because this one is finished in the shiny gold aluminum and it is dented in some areas and is also folded up on the bottom back edge. My Bally machines had a laminate on them.

Well I hope you didn't pay too much for it.

Definitely salvageable.

Where the progressive was you can always add another or you can pick up an inexpensive marquee sign and have a scrolling message run through there.
I would also add a bill validator - even if you don't bother with any of the transport or cash can just to fill the hole.

Yes the good thing is I am not into deep on the purchase but I have been out of the slots and did not want to put more into it than these older ones are valued. The scrolling sign sounds good I did not know that they made them that small, I will have to look. Also I am not opposed to putting in a bill validator just kinda wanted to get the basic parts needed to make it alive again. Thanks for anyone’s input like I said I have been out of machines for a while but my 4year old grandson seen this setting in the corner of the garage and was very interested in seeing it run.  Lol maybe I should not let him spin the reels at his age.
