When you get a 65-1 cant

Right to eprom. Which eprom are we talking about.

65-1 indicates a data error on the EEPROM which is located on the motherboard.

You do not need to do anything with the EEPROM. You need to follow the directions on the error code page which is linked to in the FAQ post at the top of the IGT S+ section.
