I'm having a problem getting a good working 1492 Ceronix in my PE... I have one Ceronix chassis thats dead, not getting the 12V.. I've changed out the caps, but that's has not helped..
I have a second 1492 Ceronix chassis that has it's 12V, and you hear the CRT energize, and the guns in the neck are glowing... The problem is I don't get a picture for almost 3 minutes, and when is done come on I have a split screen top to bottom? After about 30 or seconds the screens starts to roll.. Then and now it's almost 4 minutes since being powered on I have a beautiful picture... This chassis has all new caps except for the 3 large ones, and they test good with my cap tester.. I have replaced the Vertical power amp #192, and the PRA "H" board with not help? I'm not sure what to check next other then changing the 3 large cap and the Flyback?
Does anyone here have any knowledge on repair the 1492 Ceronix.. I know I can send it in, but I'm hoping to learn how they work and where the check for voltages..
Thanks, Gary

I'm not a monitor expert at all. In fact, CRTs scare me. :)
I'm moving this topic to the monitor repair section, since the issue is with the monitor and not with the particular machine (the IGT PE) that it's installed in.
Additionally, a quick Google search yielded a couple of items that may interest you:

Thanks Knagl for the Google search information.. I've replaced everything except the Flyback and the #280
XRC5184 ic, 16 pin IC.. I have both, so time to do a little more testing.
Thanks Gary

i have had 20 ceronix chassis repaired by ceronix in the past few months - they charge $65 plus shipping - the usual repair is 2 ICs and the Flyback.

Do you have the part number of the IC's that were replaced, and maybe the location number on the board? I'm thinging it #280, that's right in front of the flyback. It's a custom P.C. IC

sorry do not have that info - I thought I posted it awhile back - will look thru my paperwork.

Well I went back and found your ad on your Ceronix problem and repair.. Come to find out my problem was the LA7851 Horiz. & Vert. Control IC #218 on the 1492 chassis.. After replacing it my Ceronix chassis now works great and the CRT/Monitor fires right up in 6-8 seconds with a bright clear picture..
Problem & case solved...
PS.. While I was working on the chassis I did do a complete re-cap, except for the 3 large caps.
