Title: Bally 22/22 Constantly Rebooting

Hey guy,

I have a Bally 22/22 that for years will reboot during the initial boot up. When I turn it on it will get half way through booting up and then just restart sometimes it will reboot three or four times and then it works normal.

Ive noticed now it will reboot up to 6 or 7 times before it stops and plays normally. It will reboot and then the game is fine to play but often minutes or an hour later of it sitting idol it reboots.

Is there something thats causing it to reboot so many times? As i said when I leave it, it will eventually stop and play normally but would like to know why it keeps rebooting. Im not an expert on these machines at all but if anyone has any ideas of what to check happy to do so. Not sure if its the power supply or anything else.

Any advice is appreciated :)

If it's a 2.0 CPU it's terminally bad.  2.0 CPUs are noted for doing this after so many years of use.  Replace is with a 2.1, which is much more reliable.

Damn! Thanks for the reply iDesign. I have a 22/32 and another 22/22 will swap the CPUs and see. Didnt think of that Cheers :)

I swapped out the CPU from my other machine and you were right iDesign its the CPU. I checked and the 2.1 are around $2500 which is too expensive for me. Is there a part of the CPU that I can replace for it not to reboot? Anyone who can help please? :)
