Post by: sakwilla on May 23, 2023, 03:43:38 AM
Im getting this strange error after about an hour the machine is turned on. I reboot it using a key and it loads normally and eventually this same error occurs again. ANy ideas?

Says the file does not authenticate, my guess is that the hard drive is corrupted somehow. I would re-install game and see if it fixes the issue.

Thanks Rick, I had tried countless SSDs and no luck also tried swapping the CPU into my other Bally Machines and the same error each time. Lasts about 30 mins and works fine but then comes up with this error.

When I did try it on my 22/32 it would work for Cher on a SSD and wouldnt come up with the error. I have about 4 other SSDs exactly the same type with different games and no luck would anyone know why this works for Cher on the 22/32 and nothing else? I like the game but dont want it to be the only game I can play.

Could it be the OS? Bios? Im not sure what to look for but can send through photos. I do (I believe have Bally OS cards but not sure what to do with them, have added some photos for any experts out there to give me a hand to get this sorted.) Have added photos of the OS cards I have and the info on my 22/32 for a start?

I thought it was the CPU but if Cher is working it must be something else?

Happy to check things out!  Thanks in advance :)

You have the latest bios, so that is not your issue.  Weird that cher works but no other game does.  Does the error only happen on this particular cabinet?  Sometimes weird errors like that are also power related. do you have another power supply to try on either mpu or cabinet?

Thanks Rick for your reply

I had this cpu installed on a Bally 22/22 when the error began and moved it to the 22/32 to see if it would fix it - nothing seemed to clear the error after 30 mins of play until I tried the SSD drive I bought with Cher installed. I initially thought it was a cpu error but the fact Cher works no problems atleast eliminated that.

I have tried about 6 different ssds and reinstalled games and no fix. The only thing I can think of is that this SSD Drive with Cher I bought from ebay as my wife wanted the game and it only came on the SSD.

Is there anythign I can check about this SSD to see why it works. Could it be OS related? Sorry just have no idea how to fix! :(

What brand of SSDs are you using? I have used several brands and the best luck I have had are with Sandisk and Samsung. Just curious as you said Cher on a hard drive works perfectly.

I have 5 cpus with the same problem, no matter what game I install or what ssd I put on it, some authentication error always appears, and the ssds work fine on other cpus
