My double stampede upper box had a low battery error. I turned off machine, replaced battery and now have a "lost communication to top box" error. Does the game have to be ram cleared in order for the top box to be seen? Should I have tried to hot swap the battery?
Thanks,
Arnold

It should clear on it's own. Power cycle usually fixes that for me. Are you watching the top screen to make sure it is booting all the way.

Is there a way to tell if the software has loaded completely? The loading indicator seems to complete and I see info of bios and software version. Was working fine till I shut down and replaced battery. I will check connections again to make sure nothing got loose. If any other ideas please let me know and I will try.
Thanks,
Arnold

Double check the polarity on the battery while you're in there and that it's a good battery

Checked battery voltage 3.3v and polarity. Reseated memory stick. Power cycled and still have lost communication to top box error. Any other ideas.
Thanks

Make sure the correct CF card is still installed in the top box unit and try turning the attendant key one time. Then return to the game.
See if that clears it.....................
