Just started working on this machine I bought, getting this error. I looked in the top of the machine & it's missing a ribbon cable on the board inside the right side. There may be other issues but I figured that was part of the problem at least

Looks like the plug to the dice was not seated so I plugged it in all the way now I'm getting a bonus game spin error & the 2nd die is constantly spinning, I turned the reset key on the side & it went back to doing the same thing

I've made some progress: got the dot matrix display working, the dice spin and stop upon power up, hear the bill validator cycling but it won't accept bills or quarters, I turned the reset key on the right side and am getting a "now bilp bet 3" message on the display. Anyone know something I can try next?

Now I am getting a "P Bet 3" in the right display, 97 in the credits display and a 0 in the coins played display. Could my issue be in the main MPU board itself?

Would a dead battery on the MPU board cause these issues?

One other thing, none of the deck buttons are lit up once I power the game up, maybe that is part of the problem why it won't go into game play or accept cash or coins?

I had that kind of luck too in the Sigma Forum. No replies to my questions.
I was finally able to get mine working, and it plays great. But like I mentioned earlier, if I move it or bump it, it will tilt and error out.
You said you got the Bonus box to work finally, so that is a start. And your dice all boot normally.
As far as the main battery, the display will let you know it's low. I replaced mine because it was dead and it told me so.
The MPU should be ok if you're getting everything to boot up and load. Your problem may be in the bill validator or coin handling circuits. If it says p bet 3 or insert coin, then the machine is looking for a coin or credit from a bill.
There's a menu for turning on and off the BV. The coin comparator could be bad or turned off also. I'd focus on those two areas first. The MPU sounds fine.

I agree with you about the MPU, I tested the +5, +12 & +24 volts on the MPU & all are reading correct. You mentioned the bv & the coin mechs, how do I disable each one so I can narrow it down? The bv does cycle when I power the machine on and the LED on the coin mech is lit, however none of the deck buttons are lit, is that a clue to some other issue perhaps?

The lights on the button deck should come on and go off during power up if you have a error. The lights on button deck if the thing is correct will light up once you correct your coin handling/bv issues. I had many of these in the past and they can be finiky when moved around. After they are where they need to be and repaired they are tanks like a old s+ etc. except a lot funner!. Also, You need to think about if you have monkied around with the mpu connectors and ribbon cables to make sure every thing is proper. There are also a couple boards on side wall lower cab. that affects coin handling. It probably never worked when you got it so do not assume things are proper inside it!.

Good to know about them being durable, hopefully it's something as simple as a bad bv or coin handling/wiring. One more thing, there is a small board under the bv that has an LED on it but it's not lit up if that's any helpful info

Correct, the previous owner never had it working, h3 bought it that way. I've checked all the connectors & ribbon cables & they all seem to be plugged into the right places. There is a small board @ 6× 4 inches inside the left rear of the machine that has a test switch on it and a single digit display but nothing ever shows up on the display when I press that small button

The only bill validator I have to try in this machine is a WBA-13-SS with a socketed chip in the bottom that reads WBA-13 IGT

Could it be that the dip switches on the MPU are set wrong?

Your BV has the wrong software installed on it.
ID024 is for IGT games.
You need the ID003 V380-32 EPROM for your WBA 13. That's the latest software for the newer bills.

Rudy's Deals has the chips for $10 each.
Look in their Sigma section.
It's a gamble buying from them, but it may be worth it.
The last item I purchased actually showed up, but that's not always the case with them. But for $10, I'd give it a try.

So all I need is that one chip to make my bv compatible with this Sigma Yahtzee game? A member messaged me that he has one I can buy

According to what I've researched, that is the correct ID0 for Sigma Yahtzee.
I don't have the same BV in my machine, and I haven't actually paid much attention to it anyway since it's always worked.
There may be a CRC Mismatch error when you initially plug it in, but you should be able to clear it and press on.
I'd try that if it were mine, honestly.
You may want to ask RB about the ID003 being for a Sigma Yahtzee and 1700 first, just to make sure, but I believe it is what you're needing to get that BV to communicate and accept bills.

Thanks for all the help, I'm going to get that chip from RB. Will I need some type of clear or set chip for this Yahtzee game in order for it to get back up & running again?
