Title: error 12 won't clear

S+ had error 12 in display so I changed the battery.  Still has the 12 error.  removed board and checked bottom side battery connections, does have 3.6vdc.
what else would cause the 12 error?  could MB cause this too?

It could be a couple of things.

#1...It could  be a "stuck logic signal"....running a Clear chip may help rearrange data on CMOS and memory chips and get things going again.
You may need to run the SET chip to re-enable the DBV and re-set the machine denomination.

#2...I don't think the MB could have anything to do with this, unless there was a short, but your battery is measured as full.

Main door optics are working? The cash can door switch bypassed?
