Title: Testing MEI Cash flow SC66
Post by: btwovegas on June 13, 2022, 10:42:48 AM
I have a possible seating issue with my cash box for my MEI SC66 BV on my S+.  Is there anyway to independently test the BV functions while bypassing the seating issue on the Cash box?

The BV cycles normally and both gears turn when the cash box is inserted but then goes solid yellow after a bit.

Exact same sound as someone else (their video below) was having when they just replaced their cashbox and that fixed the issue. But I wanted to verify its not the BV head independently if possible.

You have a S2000 not S+ machine.  Try to clean and reseat the interface board that is in between the BV and the cash box.

often the solid yellow is dirty optics in the cash box

Toss the cash box in the dishwasher.  Never heard that sound from dirty optics though.

Post a picture of your machine so I can move this to the appropriate forum if it's not an I-game/GK.

I've seen them make that noise. The 2 most common (there are other) reasons are dirty cash can optics and a head that is not programmed properly for the machine.

That's good to know.  Sometimes cleaning doesn't clear the yellow lite but still makes it work right.  Even got a coupon to allow me to enable/disable different denoms with a yellow lite on.

Looked like a S2000 in the youtube vid to me.

Washing the entire thing worked like a charm.  I blew it out before and it looked pretty clean but that didn't work so I disassembled the box and washed everything including the optical pipes and its working now. Who would of ever guessed i would be washing slot machine parts in my sink lol...

Yup it’s that same wonderful one you built. Works like a charm until I start tinkering with it lol. Finally got it moved down into my man cave basement so now I can truly enjoy them.
