been trying to google around to find where to get the sts software and the cost of it with little success.
while talking about the sts software, will it power the head via the usb cable when hooked up or do you have to have someway to power the unit?

As far as STS powering the unit with USB that would be a negative. Best way is to program it is in a machine if using STS. I have a MEI bench unit with external power supply but even then I'm headed straight to a machine to make sure it works after I flash.

guess i am going to have to get a longer usb cable.
did you make the "bench" unit yourself or is it something that can be bought?

would it be possible to power a mei housing (with igt wire harness) if i was to wire a power brick to the red/black wires??
i have a brick that is rated:
[size=78%]100-240v 50/60hz 1a input[/size]
12v 3.33a output
trying to figure out a solution to get power to heads at my desk since my test machines are like 15 feet away

The power brick I use says 24v 3a output
