I have a Mars cashflow in a upright bb2, I can hear it cycle when I turn on the machine but it will not take bills at all. The lights on the top of the unit are all on so their is obviously an error. I did notice that at the back of the cabinet there is a connector that looks like it should be for the billval harness to the backplane maybe? Could that be why it’s not working maybe because the system can’t see it but it does have power from the power supply

J5 on the backplane is the Printer connection, so you should check to see if it has something plugged into it. If not, try plugging in that loose connection you mentioned.

I swapped out head units and now only the first green light is flashing once a second, according to the manual it is saying it is disabled by the machine. Attached is the in harness connector I was talking about, it’s an open plug behind the cash can box and billval, looks like it should have another harness to it maybe? Also a pic of the backplane

J5 Printer is the 2nd connector, top left on the backplane, Red connector is plugged into it so trace where is goes.

Oh I see, the printer and billval use the same connector on the backplane?

My mistake, for some reason I thought you were having printer issues. J12 on the backplane is the BV connection. Sorry for the confusion.

J12 is that large red connector on the left just below the printer connector. You can trace that one.
