Title: BB1 goes to Handpay. Missing a setting ?
Post by: Sunrise Side on November 17, 2021, 04:39:15 PM
I have a TITO from Bettorslots and I can not get it to print tickets. Jim I'm posting here,  being where the machine is , there is no cell service . What am I missing? I tried Host 1 several times, I tried Host 2 port and settings, and same problem. Printer works in diagnostics and prints void ticket. I'm using the cable that come with TITO. I tried another TITO board. I pressed the reset button on the TITO board.  Can you see where I missed anything in the settings or have set incorrectly? Or is it a Jurisdiction issue?  Thank You ! Your settings look correct.  We have a mechanical break in communication somewhere between the Tito board and the main computer board.  The most common issue is the backplane on these machines but that is not necessarily the problem.  I would troubleshoot in this order:

1)  You said you grabbed another Tito board to try.  I'm assuming you took it from another machine where Tito is working?  If so plug this machine's Tito into the working machine so we can rule out a damaged Tito board.  It doesn't matter if they are IGT or Alpha, etc.

2)  I'm assuming you stuck the Tito to the cabinet using the velcro.  If so, try unplugging the power to the Tito, then carefully peel Tito board off the cabinet and then place something non-metallic like a book or magazine between the cabinet and the Tito board and plug power back in, then test again.  This rules out any kind of grounding problem.

3)  The serial cable sent with the kit is brand new but that doesn't mean it could be bad and have a short, but highly unlikely.  I would make sure it is plugged in solid, especially on the Tito, brace the top board and make sure fully seated.  If you have a meter you can check the continuity of the cables lines (just the 3 applicable pins of course).

4)  Reseat the main computer board down onto the backplane.  With the power off, you see the latch at the bottom right to raise it up off the pins?  Raise it then hard down left, right, then the middle of the board.  I have very often seen bv comm, printer comm, door switch, and Tito comm failures as a result of a pin short where the main board pushes into the backplane.

5)  Trying Host Comm 2 was the right thing to do as I have found many BB1's with bad Comm-1 ports, damaged from casino player tracking setup.  I'm assuming you moved the serial cable to Comm-2 port on the backplane after you made the menu change?  About two weeks ago I had a dealer friend call me with the exact problem you are having with the exact same machine type.  He also tried Comm-2 with no success.  Replacing the backplane with a known Tito working backplane fixed his problem.  If you have no success with 1-4 above, it's the most logical thing to try next.

6)  Beyond that, the last thing it can be is some sorta comm short on the board.  Never seen this before on a BB, I have on IGT S2, but I have to mention it as a possibility.

Let me know the results, you can always email me direct jim@bettorslots.com

Jim, Thank You Very Much! I will go back to that machine and try reseating the MPU to the backplane and try another cable. Tim
