Title: Sweet shawnee - Keeney's and sons. Stl mo
Post by: jgriner on June 14, 2022, 10:10:51 AM
So I picked me up a new toy..

Keeney's sweet shawnee - reel less, video less, slot machines.

My understanding is in the 1950s, the Johnson act outlawed game of chance machines that relied on a spinning wheel, reel, or drum to determine wins.

To skirt the law slot machines were produced with lights to determine wins, and win's were paid as credits as displayed.

1. Looking for anything on the act, or the machine. (flyers, operational manuals, schematics, board has corrosion on components)

2. Anyone near st Louis mo who is able to repair (possibly restore) this slot machine (the wiring looks butchered, and the coin mech /bill acceptor also looks aftermarket.. The bill acceptor tingles when you touch it, hehe)

Those Keeney's are referred to as "flasher units".  I know someone that might have some paperwork for them.

Just one or two photos is fine. And, please - not from google or other offsite photo hosts. They always disappear over time. I'll grab some off your link and post them.
Here they are.  :propeller:

This is more of the machine I have, but im going to guess mine is newer as it has pcb, instead of rolls of relays.

ok, ok, ok, the plot thickens? i had an conversation with someone today, and he told me that he stated that my machine doesn't make sense at all! and I'm starting to agree with him!

every example of my machine the internals should look like miles of wire and coils, relays, not printed circuit boards!! but here mine is two pcbs, not 50 miles of wires. has anyone seen an old flasher slot machine with pcbs? has anyone heard of anyone upgrading a old flasher to custom built pcbs?

what my machine looks like vs what every example of what my machine SHOULD look like!! can anyone explain this?????

ill try and find a proper forum for my flasher machine, and quit pestering you on the intro section this weekend, thanks for all the help!
