Title: IGT S Plus BV set up
Post by: cuda on August 21, 2022, 07:51:18 PM
I am sure there are multiple threads on this but I can't find the one I need.  If someone can tell me or post a link to the thread.  I am trying to make sure I have the bill validators set up on my S Plus 3 reels.  They process one turn on but I get no lights on the insert bills sign and they wont take bills.

I went in the menu and from what I read I was looking for menu 9 but I am not getting a 9 option.  Its starts at 5 and goes to 6, 7 and then jumps to like 11, 14 and 52 those might be the exact numbers as I am doing this from memory now.

I have a BV reset chip but not sure how to use it.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is for the basic SET015. If using another like SET086 for SP1137 refer to the PSR. It's pretty much the same but you need to set the country code.

So this worked to get the light on and accept bills. But it won’t keep them. Just spits them back out. I tried every denomination.

Is the BV bad or is it not updated for new bills?

I really want this to work. Does someone have a suggestion or even a working BV I can swap in place of this one that is already updated for new bills?

I am sure Jim has a updated and calibrated head that he can supply.

The first suspicion is that its not setup for new money so above might be your best option.
Initially start with $1 older the better. The $1's were not really updated the way that other bills were so you have a good chance of these being accepted.
You can take the head apart and clean the optics - do so with a qtip and warm water nothing like alcohol.

While you have your head out check your dip switches on the validator you can selectively turn off any particular the denomination.
Often $50 were turned off as people could color in $5's and have them recognized as $50s so Casinos often turned these off and when asked told people they were unlucky. Its possible that all the dips are turned off.

You can get calibration cards that will align your bill head - but if its old enough that it needs calibration it probably needs updating too.
