Title: 3D printed parts for s2000
Post by: reactorpwr on August 29, 2022, 07:04:54 AM
Has anyone ever thought of 3d printing a reel glass lamp shield for the s2000 to provide a means of not lighting up the reels (as much or at all) but still be able provide lighting to the top reel glass inserts?

I don't use CFLs anymore and there isn't a way to dim factory LED tubes or aftermarket LED tubes in the machine.  I do understand that factory LED tubes can twist to have only portion of the tube non-opaque section aim towards front but light bouncing off internal parts still light up the reels pretty good.  Only option I see is to retrofit dimmable and light directable LED strips and/or build a light guide cover. Thinking something similar to denom insert light box against the glass.

I changed my lighting to LED and spliced in an inline dimmer to control the light intensity.

you used the factory LED bulbs (ballast bypass) or aftermarket (ballast not bypassed?)

I used the ballast bypass LED bulbs from SuzoHapp.
