Title: What goes here? COIN HANDLING? (Also How to Install COIN HANDLING?)
Post by: Dirty Slots on September 11, 2022, 05:03:06 PM
I noticed the machine I got today does not have anything plugged in here. Is that where the coin handling wire harness goes?

Here is a pic of my other machine (same model about), it has coins.

----------------------------------------------

Could I order a kit, lets say a hopper and coin drop thing (where you put the coins) , and then install coin handling on my new machine myself? I'd need a tray too.

Would I need any special chips for install? I am guessing I would need to program or enable some stuff on the menu, is there a thread or video that shows that?

Thanks -Nate

I don't know what it is that plugs into that I/O board connector, but it has nothing to do with coin handling. One of my machines has nothing plugged into it. This is the only machine which doesn't have backlit reel strips, so maybe its for the backlighting.

As for setting up for coin, it's not hard to do. Post a photo of the backside of the door so I can see what you have.

If you follow the harness connected to the cabinet I/O, you will see it goes to the backlit reel controller. It will not be present on machines without backlit reels.

That is so cool to know.  Now I'm one step closer to installing back lights on a machine (some day).

Here is a pic of the inside of the door. Just let me know if you would like to see anythig else. I can send any pics/info needed.

Thanks guys! -Nate
