Title: Double Poker Joker Assistance
Post by: 2Lumps on September 30, 2022, 08:19:34 AM
Hello,

First time messing w/ one of these machines and need some assistance. Hopefully I am in the correct forum location, and thanks for any help in advance. I came across a IGT double joker poker machine, model 96452200, serial 1398897, date of mfg 8/04.

When I turn the machine on it will go through it's boot up, then tell me to call an attendant. I open the door, the alarm sounds. It suggest I turn the key which I do and it brings up the data memory error -0x1. Non-recoverable error. Turn attendant key switch to clear data,  and when i do this it tells me to hold the test button for 2-3 seconds. I assumed the test button was the white button next to the door switch.

That's about as much time as I spent, then came here and im reading through other peoples issues a little trying to pick up on some knowledge.

Thanks

Jason

Try holding the test switch longer until you (hopefully) hear a "ding." Then close the door and see what happens.
Please post a photo of your machine as well.

Yes, please post a picture.  Sounds like a S2000 slot machine from the description.

The self test button is the little white button the MPU board next to the row of LEDs.  When it tells you, press and hold that for 2 - 3 seconds and follow the onscreen instructions.

Sounds like I was pushing the wrong button, it’s at my office I will try again Monday morning and report back.

It's a 17" game king.  We'll get a mod to move it to the appropriate forum.

Yes, I believe the button you were pushing was the door switch.  Under the monitor is a tray containing the MPU board and on that is a row of status LEDs.  Next to the end one will be a white or chrome pushbutton.  That's the one you need to push and hold.

It may be fixed after going through the onscreen directions, or another error message may come up (such as main battery low).

I figured that would probably be the case.  You need to replace the battery on the MPU board.  It's a coin cell and is normally soldered on.  If it is get a coin cell battery holder, solder it on, then put the new battery in the holder.  That way when it dies again in a few years you can replace it without soldering.  If you don't have the tools/skills to do the replacement places like batteries r us can do it I'm told.

You'll also want to get a keychip for your game.  It allows you to change certain machine options so you can set the game up properly.  Contact member RB and he can get you the right one for your machine.

Do you feel the battery change will resolve the Coin-Out Jam, and the comment of Options Verification Required? I will see what I can find out the coin cell battery holder and will search up coin cell batteries.

Yes the coin out jam means it tried (or is trying) to payout from the hopper but didn't detect a coin going through the coin out optics.  Probably because it doesn't have a hopper installed to begin with would be my first guess.  The options verification required is an informational message telling you that you should check the machine options as settings have changed.  The keychip I was talking about will allow you change some options such as disabling the hopper so it won't try to pay from it if it is not installed.

Sounds good, I got the parts on the way. I believe the hopper is installed assuming that’s the coin box behind the drawer. It money part sounded weak while booting up. Ready to get this thing playing.
