Title: Sigma SG-112b Jokers Wild - Can't save settings
Post by: mwade109 on January 05, 2023, 05:42:29 PM
Ok, so I picked up this Sigma machine, (pretty much the crappiest video poker I have ever played). I am trying to disable the bill accepter.  In the manual it says the mainboard has two banks of dips and it says to disable it there.  The mainboard in mine does not have these switches.  I have found where to disable it on screen but it does not retain the setting. I don't know if there is something I need to do in settings that I am not doing.... such as there being a 'save settings' button or something like that.  I cannot read the top of the coin cell to see the voltage but it is putting out 3.02v, I assume that is enough to retain settings.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes it takes time before the right person reads the thread.
a couple common things are:
no credits on the machine while changing settings
some machines require a ram clear to enable or disable devices.

Hopefully someone familiar with this machine will comment.

Thanks,
Wayne

Some had the switches others did not. Instead they used solid wire on the bottom side of the board to make the settings. this way workers could not hit the switches and make a change. So, on the bottom of the board ,where these switches should be, there will be wires soldered to simulate the switch settings, solid wire = on,  no wire =off.  when you do make a change the machine will indicate that by putting a prompt on the screen, then you will have to use the reset switch on the side to incorporate the change.

Hope this helps

Thanks you, I never dreamed of looking on the bottom of the board..... but I will next time! A good little piece of info learned here today. Sure enough, they were right where you said. Will have a chance to get back at it tomorrow.  Thanks again.
