Title: Game king bill Val issues
Post by: Nepa Coin Op on January 05, 2024, 08:35:48 PM
I have a GK here giving me bil val issues, initially it was giving meters disconnect errors, that ended up being the back plane, the rough sorting all of that out I/Os were swapped and played with, I now have it to the point it boots runs and goes through the initial setup. I end up with bil Val error and options verify which is no big deal that will go away when the door is closed. I tested the Val in a different igt and it is dead so I got one from spin, wba13, installed it with 0024 software and it’s still dead in the machine, is there an IO that communicates with the bill Val ?? This is a bit frustrating, I thought for sure it would be slip the new transport in and be good to go.

Any helps appreciated

Thanks guys !!

Is the new one from Spin dead in the other cabinet too?
You're playing with Netplex stuff...can't do any swapping with the power ON.
That's a no-no.

I’ve determined it’s a bad head I now have it running, I only got the transport from them, I have 3 heads here but all seem to have issues, 1 renders the unit dead with no comm the others reject all bills, I am running the correct sw in them, at this point I either need a good head or to fix these. What usually fails in the heads ?? Msg sensor? Optics ?? Caps ?? If anyone has a good head I’ll buy it. I just wanna get this thing out of here and back to it’s owner

We're dealing with pretty old crap Nepa....lol
They're way beyond their lifetime expectancies.
If you've ever taken these things apart, the boards are like circuit boards in cellphones...impossible to repair.
