IGT S-2000 says "CRITICAL DATA ERROR -0x1000000" RAM ERROR

When I turned on this $300 machine I got off Craigslist, It beeped VERY loud and said "RAM ERROR". When I hit the Jackpot key, or maybe it was the reset button, it stopped beeping and said "CRITICAL DATA ERROR -0x1000000"

I'm happy to buy some parts and fix my first broken slot machine (I have 5 IGTs already). This would be my first time fixing one. I'm no expert, but I have common sense and I can do anything that's straight forward.

AlsoI broke the transistor thing that is on the small board I'm holding. So I will need one of those. It was not plugged in,but sitting in the corner of the cabinet when I found it. 

So whats the first step?

Keep turning the J/P key until it says to push the test button or close the main door.

Got it. Looked up an old thread. It said, open door, turn jackpot key 4 times, hold reset button for 2-3 seconds. The machine started, looks awesome, but now I have to figure out why the bill collector won't work.

Oh yeah, and I do have a low battery, which is what usually causes the "RAM ERROR" message. I will replace it. Here is my bill collector but I'll put that in another forum seciton.

The Bill Validator won't enable fully until the Low Main Battery message is cleared.

That piece you're holding in your hand is the Bezel Light Board. It will illuminate the Bill Entry Bezel when the machine is Game Ready and all errors are cleared, providing that the Bill Validator is operational.

Does the Validator cycle a few times while the machine is booting up?

Wow, you just solved the issue 2 other threads couldn't figure out. I get my battery tomarrow. I will clear the RAM error. I bet that will do it. I'll let you know. Thank you! -Nate

It worked. I replaced the CR2354 battery and the RAM Error went away, and the bill collector started working pefectly. Thank you guys!

Yeah, I was already told that. To me they were seperate issues. Sorry, new at this. Thanks for the help!
