Wild Thing starting list
« on: September 26, 2022, 01:14:38 PM »
Hi Gang

Question #1 We have two new machines (see  previous post) both have Bill Validator neither work.  Currently have them both here, both are WBA-12-SS IDO 24, one head is labeled USA-501-24, the other USA-501-03-15, I know IDO 24 is ITG does it matter the second head doesn't say 24?  Also neither one work in either machine.  I have swapped all combinations  of transport and head in the WT, none cycle on power up, none cycle on self test, no lights at all except the 2 red leds by dip switches.

BV is enabled in settings.  Nothing mentioned about BV on NetPlex scan.  Test BV says "Bill =" but doesn't take bill.  All 3 connectors on back of BV frame are tight, as is connector on MB (1270).
If I do have to replace do I want WBA-23  or something else.

Question #2  Need bass speaker harness (the one attached to the Case).  Also need one side speaker.

More to come
TIA
Ron

The heads don't matter, it's the transport that matter on these.  It has all the interface logic.  The head is just the scanner part.  If they are not cycling upon boot, then I would make sure the harnesses on the rear are connected, particularly the 5 pin connector. Also run an netplex autoconfig on the bill validators.  You can search the site on how to do that as it has been explained many times.

If they are both bad, you would need WBA 12/13 (one is flash memory, the other one is eprom, both are basically the same).  WBA 22/23 are for international currency and will not work with USA bills.

Hi Rick

As mentioned above, the only thing mentioned when I run the NetPlex auto config is Printer 2 not responding, it does no mention the BV at all.

Rechecked 5 pin, it is secure.

Is opposite end of 5 pin on MB? The BV connector on MB is also secure

Can I assume it is getting power if the LED's are on?

yes, if the leds are on, it is getting power.  You may wish to test the the 2 pin connector as this is the power supplied to the validator to make sure it is supplying voltage.  Also just because the sticker says IDO 24, doesn't mean that is what is on the transport.  The fact that the validator does not cycle when it is properly connected is a sign that typically means bad transport or wrong firmware on the transport.  Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to connect it to a PC and read the firmware using a JCM harness which is no longer manufactured.    It is not just a simple cable that can be made as there's logic in the harness.  The only way to make sure you have the correct validator is to send it to someone who has these tools, or just buy a known working WBA12/13 with the correct firmware and try it on your machine.  They should be relatively easy to acquire at a reasonable cost (around $30).

Thanks Rick

I'm looking for a BV for my Triple Double Wild Cherry, that will give me a known working unit to use for testing
