Some Varta removals today "504" 3902 Rev B

I thought I'd post some varta removal pics. We recently got some boards with rather iffy Vartas (They were beginning to do their deed :banghead:), and rather than even chance it in the drawer for pending later use, off with them!

Pics are one version, and the more normal version with the direct soldered safestore chip. The removed offenders from one board.
Removal methods include solder suction and hot air, amtech flux, flux remover, 99% alcohol, and deoxit finish.

Interesting.  I thought the 3903 board was the only 390X series board to have a varta battery installed.  With the 3903 board you have to remove U72 when you remove the battery or you'll get a constant Door Open MCLB error.
