Rick Bossert had a bad auto accident 5 weeks ago and is still in ICU at UMC in Las Vegas.
He was traveling to a service call on the 95 and hit a patch of water that rolled his Jeep through a barricade and down a steep embankment.
The Jeep roll bars saved his life but he is pretty banged up, broken neck, 2 broken arms, and other internal injuries.
I have known Rick since the mid 70's when I worked at the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling hall in Laughlin.
He was one of the slot techs I had hired to work in the slot shop I ran for the Pioneer.
I watched his kids grow up and knew him and his lovely wife Charlotte to be good people.
He worked for Sigma and Williams for a while after the Pioneer was sold before moving the family to Las Vegas where he ran a one man slot service.
I hired him at KLAR when I first took over from Larry and he was my outside service tech while I worked in the shop.
Charlotte gave me an update today. He is being fed through a tube into his stomach.
He is on a ventilator to help him breathe, he has pieces of metal holding his arms together and a cage to reattach his neck to his spine.
It is going to be a long recovery but the doctor is confident he will be able to move around in a wheelchair when everything has healed.
He is a tough Navy Vet just like his father and I am glad to hear he is getting excellent medical care at UMC.
His older son has moved in with Charlotte to help her out so she is not alone.
Prayers will help, the more the better.
Thank you, Alan Dorman

We are sorry to hear this. Rick bought a slot stand from me in Dec. We loaded it into his green jeep. He will be in our prayers.

That's terrible news, praying for a speedy and full recovery for Rick and many more prayers for his wife and family as they endure this hardship.
