Would anyone know the difference between a Mississippi chip and a Maryland chip?
I've been using Maryland jurisdiction chips and it doesn't need meters either.
Could someone please PM or email me a list of juri chips and what they allow you to do?
Thanks! :cool_thumb_up:

Mississippi is a nice jurisdiction. It has reasonable limits, no mech meter running. It does of course have some monetary limits, I want to say $5k credit limit. I'm fond of my local Minnesota jurisdiction, with no limits on anything except taxable $1200 and runs the meters. I cranked around with trying to come up with a perfect jurisdiction, like Columbia w/no meters but I don't know how to produce the correct check hash in the code, and it throws a system halt if you alter a single bit on the jurisdiction chip.

Thanks!
BTW Pretty much any machine halts if the chips' programming has an incorrect checksum...lol

ah, its the same signing they use to sign the OS and Game cards.. So if you figure out the Jurs, let me know.
ha
I will let you in on a little clue I discovered, the first 2 bytes of the Jurisdiction are not part of the signature.
Those are the only 2 bytes you can change without triggering a checksum error.
Why? Because those 2 bytes are meant for VGT (Video Game Terminal) ID.
:mindblown:
Any reverse engineering on the Jurisdiction needs to not include the first 2 bytes in the process.
Some keys used for checking the signing are in the BIOS... But still need one more key, I think...
Some keys are in the boot sector of the OS and/or game card.
If you compare Dev BIOS with Prod BIOS you will see.

Hello. Newbie here.... This is the only post I could find with Jurisdiction Chip question.
I own 2 WMS BB2s with NXT2 CPUs. If I have a Columbia Jurisdiction chip, can I just swap out U4? Or are there other steps I have to take to change jurisdiction to remove jackpot limit of $1200?
Thanks.

If you change the juristdiction chip you will have to do a CLEAR and set the game up again
