small update i did play with the display a bit and found i can set the protocol as type 2/7/8, ipc, adv, and cham2. im hopeing i can set it to cham2 and program it as if it was a mikohn. i probably will have a problem hooking it to the machine tho because the cable to do so was cut and only has 2 wires i believe the chamII+ i programed had 3. it also has 3 modes normal and 2 others i cant read because it seems the display doesn't scroll. what i can see of the words are dsply t, and service.

Hi all,
Here's some photos of the Spectronix LCD system in my (3) IGT S2000 machines.
I'm wanting to make them operational to display a progressive amount or just a message.

Trying to understand some posts in our archives but this system doesn't seem to match those described.
Example: Photos look different (back of LCD and main board) and my board has a single set of 4 dip switches not 2 sets of 4.

I contacted Spectronix, They said they were sorry but were unable to help me at this time.....

So sorry... we couldn't help you at this time.
Regards,
Christy

Someone here can surely please tell me what I need to make it work? (and stop calling me Shirley....lol)
Does it need a controller of some kind?
Was hoping I could just attach a cable to the IGT motherboard 'progressive' 6-pin connector and enter some configuration settings with the key-chip .
I fear this may not be this simple?

Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Todd
