I ended up picking these up.  Definitely a grab-bag.  So far I've got 2 in excellent shape(Bright OLED, Bright LEDs), another 2 that are in very good shape(Good OLED, Good LEDs), 3 that are good(fair OLED, Good LEDs) and working through the rest.  There were 8 OLEDs that were just dark, a few buttons that had lived a rough life, and a few mangled connectors.  The rest are now individual parts, looking to cobble together a few more from the group.  For the price, I'm very happy with the results so far.

Just need to find some white spacers or risers now.

I did the 5 for 99 dollars. 20 per button super bright like new.  With your 18 not being tested, 60 was my limit.  Glad you got a good deal

Some of my used to be bright buttons are beginning their quick fade downfall.  I had what used to be a relatively even brightness set of buttons, now I have 2 that are at least 50% dimmer than the rest.  A friend of mine who bought one of my machines had the same issue.  He is OCD about everything, so he just went out and bought NEW buttons for his machine and replaced them all.  But at $60 per button, that's a tall order, I would need to get 24 buttons to replace all buttons on both my machines, so I just live with the dimmer buttons until there is no more image.  Wish I could just replace the screen like I did with one of my WMS panels.  A lot easier to swallow $20 to fix a button.

How long do the OLED screens last in a home environment assuming you bought one brand new?

I haven't owned a new button long enough to tell.  But the 4 new buttons I have used on my machine are still bright after a year.  For the WMS PMOLED buttons, their lifecyles are rated at 33,000, that's almost 4 years of 24x7 operation. The issue with the buttons we get used, is that we don't know where on the lifecycle these buttons are.  Considering that the IGT AVP platform is now more than 10 years old, (My G23 V2 which came with edgelit OLEDs has a 2011 datecode), we have to assume that the buttons that make it to us in "used" conditions have seen no less than 3 years of use at the casino's.  So I'm just taking a guess in saying that if you install new buttons, they will last for quite a while.  The other issue is that oled decays even when it is not powered up.  I've had OLED display that were bright go to storage for about a year, and when powered up, almost all buttons are completely dark, again I don't know how long these OLEDs where in service before I got them.  For target market of these machines, this is a non-issue.  Casino's can easily afford to keep the button around, and since they always have "current" machines (for the most part, since S2000's are still everywhere in casino floors), they can easily source the replacements from the manufacturers.  Unfortunately for us, when we get our hands on them, the platform is either retired or about to be retired, so getting replacement buttons will be a challenge eventually.  A lot of the newer machines are now using LCD panels for the player area, which gets ride of the OLED issue, but that doesn't help our home machines.  So in the end we are going to have to learn to live with faded buttons, unless a source for replacement screens can be found.
