S9C/Eprom based game not loading
« on: January 04, 2025, 09:38:47 AM »
Hey all, got an S9C (Eprom based game) not loading and just showing up with this error every time the game tries to load. I have attempted a couple things including RAM Clear and reseating the PCI Card that hold the Eproms and this error pops up, what's causing this?

OS: AVOS336-09

Mark this as solved!!! I ended up swapping the old BIOS and used an AVBBPRO0R807‐00 lying around and AVOS00000317-02. The game now loads!

AND I spoke too soon. So the Bally Alpha splash screen comes up and attempts to load the game. It loads for like forever and then "call attendant" pops up and for the cpu to automatically reboot...

I may either just have a bad CPU or the PCI Card is bad

Took another look and noticed this during the boot up sequence… “Set Low Latency” which is what I assume that says what the heck does that mean?!

Now for REAL marking this as solved!!! EPROMS were not seated very well. So I ended up reseating all of them and lo and behold the game loads!!!

What game are you running that requires an EPROM with an Alpha 1?

Double Jackpot 3 reel with Quick Hit.

However I am running into another issue regarding the reels, I had to replace the power supplies on the cabinet since the original ones popped a capacitor and started smoking… while I did get them replaced the reels lightly shake when not moving and sometimes during a spin they lose their location and go into tilt or straight up lose strength on the motor… faulty power supply (again) or bad Reel Backplane? I have done several things such as reseat the reels, power supply, reel bar harness, everything. Nothing seems to fix this issue so far.

Hi,

Re: Your misbehaving reels. . . What would your last-ten tilt messages look like?
CPU, ELEC, MECH, BVAL, TRBL

Among the lines of this:

“Mechanical Reels Not Configured
Mechanical Reels Device Error
Mechanical Reel (1, 2, or 3) Device Error”

I have a feeling on what MAY be causing this, it isn't the power supplies but a DECENT chance it may be RCU Backplane. I tested these out on my current working 5 Reel and they move and behave just fine... I even screw these reels in by hand.
