Two things can be wrong.
1). The door optics aren't working.
2). You're stuck in the [61] Loop.
Check the door emitter optic by turning ON the power switch and peering at the emitter lens with a digital camera such as a cellphone camera.
You should see a blue-ish light coming out of it.
If there's no light, replace with a new one.
To check the cabinet receiver optic requires a multimeter to measure voltage going thru the diode by shining light at it.
If you don't have a digital multimeter to check the receiver optic, perform the next steps.
***Warning***
This WILL disable the bill validator AND erase ALL settings and internal accounting.
Read and then decide if you still want to use a Clear chip.
Turn OFF the power switch.
Pull out the MPU and remove the SP GAME chip.
Put in the Clear chip.
Turn ON the power switch.
Clear it twice.
Let the numbers run up to 999, then push the little white test button again and run it up to 999 again.
Once complete, turn OFF the power switch.
Pull out the Clear chip and put back in the SP GAME chip.
Turn ON the power switch.
You may get the [61] again but hold the test button until you get [61-1], then close the door and turn the Jackpot Reset key once to clear the [61-1].
The reels will spin backwards from right to left.
If the lamp isn't burned out, the "Insert Coin" light should come ON.
What SP chip do you have?
I can show you the rest of the set-up for that particular chip.
Also, do you have a SET chip to re-enable the bill validator?
If not, you will only be able to use coins, until you get the proper SET chip for your SP chip.
