Title: My Reel Touch won't boot up completely
Post by: br549autosales on November 23, 2020, 11:03:53 AM
Turned my Ms Little Green Men machine on this morning and instead of booting up to game play it just stops at the Testing executable images for valid CRCs and the bottom display says waiting for the video display. Now just before this the monitor was beeping and was blank so I took out the 2 cards inside the monitor/computer, wiped them clean & repeated them and then it booted up to it's current state. Could one of those cards be bad?

Bios 1 or bios 2? If it's bios 2 the memory should count up to 523xxx K. If 260xxx reseat memory cards.
If it's bios 1 try reseating the memory cards again.

Not sure if mine is Bios 1 or 2 but it says Energy Star on the screen when it's booting up. It did count all the way to 523,264 but it froze again at the same place. I may have a few xtra memory cards laying around somewhere if you think one of those might be the problem

If it gets to 523xxx the memory is good. No need to do anything else. Try unplugging the molex with the gray wires on the top box and see if the top display gets to initialize

I tried removing that plug with the grey wires, still nothing. Looks like these caps are bad on my motherboard though, guessing that's my problem?

I have been seeing this issue more and more lately.
The motherboards are starting to go bad.
Try reseating as many of the plugs on the motherboard and see if it helps.
There is still a guy on Ebay selling the exact motherboard and I have had good results with them. You just need to transfer the chip/fan assembly and the memory sticks.
Sometimes you have to use your existing video daughter board.  This replacement even has a bios 2 chip in them. Search below on ebay.

DFI ITOX ST2K-E ST2KE4-100 75513400 PGA370 Flex-ATX Intel Motherboard +ST2K-3SL5.

Hopefully he still has some.

Still reseat all the connectors before you go this route.

Let us know how it goes.
Make sure you also have a keyboard with a purple ps2 plug . When you first install turn on keep hitting the delete key to get to the bios settings for the board.
Choose the option " save optimized defaults " then save and exit. Power down unplug keyboard and you should be good to go.

You could try replacimg all those bloated caps on that board. I did it once and got a good board back. Fairly cheap and simple repair

By luck I actually had another good working motherboard so I removed the one with the swollen caps & installed this one and the game is working great again, thanks for the help
