Title: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on March 04, 2021, 05:57:50 AM
Hi. With an SB000551 , what would be the Proper SG chips please?
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on March 04, 2021, 06:16:09 AM
SB000551 is not a Reel Touch SB chip.
It is for a 5R 120cr vision S2000.
If you have a Reel Touch you are trying to get working more information is needed like what is the bios of the top box and the harddrive combination loaded.

Thanks for the info. How Do I get that? Just by turning the machine on? Without the board? Thanks

SB000551 is not a Reel Touch SB chip.
It is for a 5R 120cr standard S2000.
If you have a Reel Touch you are trying to get working more information is needed like what is the bios of the top box and the harddrive combination loaded.
Rich

It's either a reel touch or a vision. Standard S2000 stepper base chip numbers begin with a 1 not a 0.

I have a reel touch Tabasco machine , not a vision.

Then that SB will not work.
What exactly is the problem?
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on March 04, 2021, 08:39:37 AM
The problem is that I have the machine, which is complete apart from the chips that are nowhere to be found. I just would like to know the required Sb and Sg chips to get it going. 😻

If you will provide the ATA & BGM numbers as requested, I might be able to find compatible SG chips for you.

OK much better.
1) We must first determine what bios that the top box has. Turn on the machine (can be with or without the lower cpu). What screen comes up first on the top box?
A red white and blue finger splash screen is a bios 1.
A yellow and green energy star boot screen comes up it's a bios 2.
2) Next we must determine the software load on the harddrive. See if there are any stickers on the top box indicating BGM, ATA, or RSA if not open the top box and visually inspect the harddrive for any of this information.
3) The top box should continue to boot until in comes to a screen that says "initializing"
4) If the top box never gets to initialize screen (could take 7 minutes) then you will also have to repair the top box. Top box should boot without help from the lower unit.
5) is the lower mpu a 500 series or 1270?

One more word of caution do NOT try to see what is on the harddrive with a USB adapter connected to any windows based computer. If it is a bios 1 harddrive this action will render it useless.

Report back and we can continue.

I think Qbert meant to say in his last paragraph DON'T connect you game's hard drive to a computer?
Title: Re: Tabasco

It’s a Bios 2

Let me say it again, I have a reel touch, not a vision. No stickers whatsoever in the top box.

Let me reference my data sheets after work today there are many combinations of SB/SG/VS chip sets that typically only work with one type of harddrive load.
I will be home in about 4 hrs. if you can wait.
Did the top box fully boot to initialize?

Thanks Bunker I corrected my post you were correct.

That's great, I will be able to provide the possible chip set combinations to get you running.
What is the maximum credits that can be played per spin according to the artwork on the glass? (Need for SB recommendation).
Do you have any of the chips SG, SB, or VS?

Post by: Myfairlady on March 04, 2021, 12:37:00 PM
Max bet is 60 credits. Top award is 50,000.

SB000511, VS009GX0, SG000239
SG000231 should also work. Let me know if you need any or all.
60cr Tabasco, bios 2 MPU chips.

Is that a 9L game?

Also the BIOS 2 is on a 50X series or 1270 MPU?

That question hasn't been answered for future members.

Hi. Thanks to RB I got SB000511 and SG000239 (G1 ang G2) but it does not work. All lights are lit on the board.  The board is good, the machine as well . Could that come from the chips? Thanks for reading. 👍🏻

Bump! Hi everyone ! I tried another set of SB000511 and SG000239 but it does not work( corrupt chips?)The board is a good one. Anyone could tell me what set of chips I need to make my Tabasco Reel Touch work ? I would really appreciate it as I have been fighting with that for months. Thank you

Are all of the LEDs on the mpu lit?
If that is the case. Either a chip is corrupt or in backward or in the wrong position. Post a picture of the mpu with chips in place.
Even if it's not the correct set for your HD it should boot and give you another bonus game type error.
Also make sure all of the pins are on the chips and they are correctly seated
If you pull the mpu board out and power up the machine does the BV cycle?
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on April 24, 2021, 12:59:44 PM
The board is a good one. I have a flashing Netplex link is down and no action whatsoever in the top monitor. Nothing more. If I try with other chips , the machine boots and the top box lights .
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on April 24, 2021, 01:04:56 PM
Post a picture of the mpu that chip set should boot unless something is corrupt. When you say other chip set are you talking the original ones from this post?
They will surely not work in a real Touch.

For Instance, if I put the Lobster Mania board in the Tabasco machine boots fine at least. My guess is one of my chips is corrupt. I will post a picture of the board ASAP.

Pictures may help.
Also Sunrise 387s are for bios1 and won't work here. (Assuming this is a bios 2 top box)
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on April 24, 2021, 01:29:15 PM
It’s a bios 2
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on April 24, 2021, 01:32:54 PM
SB000511, VS009GX0, SG000239 should boot without issue regardless of top box.
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on April 24, 2021, 01:44:00 PM
What about SB000551?  The chips Rb kindly sent to me are unfortunately corrupt ( flashing red light on the board). As a consequence, I found somebody else who sent me another set of chips and now I have the horrendous Flashing netplex link is down.  Tough luck
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on April 24, 2021, 01:51:01 PM
The 551is not a Reel Touch chip and will not work.
The chips that someone else provided are  they
SB000511, VS009GX0, SG000239 or something else?
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: Myfairlady on April 24, 2021, 02:01:20 PM
511 and 239. I have to confirm about the Vs chip. What would occur with a wrong Vs chip?
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on April 24, 2021, 02:05:49 PM
Depending on which one it is it may not boot.
Reel Touch are very picky about the chips they must use. I'm trying to save you time, you need the combination that I provided to even begin to see if the top box is compatible.

I don’t have the version chip you’re referring to unfortunately. I have VS009iX0 and VS011IX1 and they don’t seem to work with my chips.
Title: Re: Tabasco
Post by: qbert on April 25, 2021, 04:05:18 AM
I forgot that you are not in the US, sorry.
The 009iX0 should be the correct one. I will have to test the set up with an international VS chip. It should work but I have had issues before with Reel Touch and international chip sets. Do you have any idea what country the machine was operating in? It make take me a few days to verify operation with the 9iX0.
I still think one of your chips is corrupt.

Your mailbox is full!

Verifing the files on the chips I assume?
Do you have a chip reader? If you do the easiest way is by the check sum value for each one. If you can tell me what each chip's check sum is I can compare it to mine.
Also what country's money type do you plan on using? Euros? I made an international set up a while back for someone in Germany for a Kenny Rogers but I  never heard back from him on whether it worked or not.
When I sell Reel Touch hard drives I fully test them in a machine using the same chip set combinations so I can assure success.
I do not recommend trying to view the files on the HD because bad things usually happen to the hard drive software load. I know for sure if you try to review a bios 1 hd on a computer with a usb adapter it will render the harddrive useless in the machine so don't go there yet.
We need to get the bottom working before we see what's going on up top. I'm curious was the SB551 in the machine when you got it and how far does it boot when you use it. Do you know what SG chips were installed when you got it also would be helpful. As I stated before Reel Touch and international are slightly different.

Solution found!  Thanks to Qbert, I could know that my SGs were corrupt. The issue came from that. I bought 2 new SGS and now the machine boots fine. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for Qbert patience and professionalism. 🙏
