Open the top box and verify the fan on the CPU heat sink is clean and working.
See if the caps on the top box are starting to swell.
There is a power supply behind the top box that may be going bad also. Reseat all the plugs going to the top box.
There is also a larger fan venting the top box that is powered by the S2000 cabinet. It should come on any time the power switch for the game is turned on.
It is powered by the bottom power supply behind the reels and not the supply behind the top box.

Allow the machine to fully boot. Open the main door and press the button on the mpu to get to the adjustment screen. Remember the touch screen only is functional during game play. You must navigate like a regular S2000 using the service, cash out, spin reels,  and max bet buttons.
Using the cash out button tab down to the setups button shown on the screen. Then press the spin reels button. Another set of buttons should show on the screen. Using the cash out button tab down to the calibrate button and press the spin reels button. Calibrate the screen by pressing indicated spots on the screen (it will be each of the four corners and some also have one in the middle of the screen). Press done on the screen. Then go back to the panel and press the max bet button twice and close the main door.
