Hello, had joined the .net site 4 years ago had a new issue this weekend and found the dot com site.
I have a video poker bartop. Seems its a fortune 2 model.. The info on the unit is.
Make igt, model 3070C. Descr poker , date mfd 8/86.
It came out of a bar in downtown reno.
This is my only gaming machine, i have a couple pinballs i maintain in my game room, so i can read schematics and trouble shoot.
This weekend it had the coin in time out. First it didnt pay all of the cash out and had call attendant. I noticed the coil on the coin drop was not energizing, the two boards that hold the optics have a ribbon type cable connecting the two boards. i could see the ribbon had a break in one of the outside connctors. Hmm, i decided to disconnect that one wire on each board and solder in a new wire, this worked but then the hopper is empty message came up, the culprit was a canada nickel stuck in the knife, removed that and all was well again.
Glad the site is still alive ,some great information.
