hi,
i just buy s6000 silver and gold, and when i power on i have no display in front and red led on mps flash every second!
i change battery, because it is died and i clear ram but nothing!!!!
look my dip switch on board there all in 1, it is strange???????
what is good configuration for this?
any else ideas???
-
Flashing red LED means there is an error on the MPU board. Did you remove any chips? Chips in the proper direction? I would remove U28 and U43 and look for bent legs on the chips. Check the edge connector of the board for bent pins as well. If you find a chip in the socket that is in backwards , most likely the chip is burnt/toast.

DSW2 should have some switches on and some off to set the proper options, DSW3 should have all switches on.

thanks,
but every chips is in good condition, legs are good, everything look great!
peraphs ship are burned???
i have no idea!!!
do you thinks i need change mpu, or just ship u-28, u-43???

send to my shop for test and repair?
-
As Alan mentioned , DS2 is not correct. Need to set your denom and BV on that Dip and then do a clear. But I think you will need more than that to get it to work. You can send it to Alan - K-Lar. Post a picture of your machine.

This is picture of my machine

I can send my board but I’m in Montreal Canada!!

You can check your voltages at the backplane test locations. Bottom left of backplane board.
-
From your hard to see board picture, it looks like your main chips are in the wrong sockets. U43 looks to be in the u28 socket. Do you have separate saferam clear chips?
Thanks,
Wayne

Ok yes i have clear chip,
From your information u28 chips is front and u43 is on back!
I resend a better picture of board
-
In the clear picture, they are correct. In the blurry picture they look incorrect. The marking on the board needs to match. Putting them in incorrectly can render one of the pair bad.

Voltage are good and I just put a new power supply to be sure!!!
I search but ……. :fryingpan:
-
yes you are right my chips is mismatched!
i put i right place , i make clear ram, but nothing no display!
do you think this mistake died board or chips???????
-
If you have separate saferam clear chips, you can try a clear with them.
Did you check the Connectors at the back of the board for bent pins? I have seen this a few times.

every thing ok i put date,
and now i have a 91nc code!
any ideas?????
-
On dip switch DS1 be sure all switches are on. if you are using "LEAVE IN CLEAR" chips, #8 switch will be in OFF position. If you change any dip switch settings , you have to do a clear.

Hello,
I know that this topic is little be old :propeller: but do you solved your problem ?
Can you tell me if the first MPU was out of service ?
I think your problem came from the MPU
Thanks.
