Title: Model 3070C Identification and hopper issue
Post by: cpressler on June 18, 2023, 06:06:29 PM
Hello, I just acquired a couple of IGT machines and have never owned or worked on one.

I attached a few images, was hoping to identify the machine correctly, and get some info on the hopper.

I am able to get into the test screen and when I try to test the hopper, it will move slightly and then just hum.

One picture I attached shows the middle of the hopper and the bar that is inside.  What is the purpose and use of this as it appears to be what stops the hopper from moving forward, but wasn't sure its functionality.

Any help on identifying and troubleshooting is Greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chad

That pin or bar as you call it is there to engage another pin that extends down from the coin disc. thus turning the disc and moving coins up and over the hopper knife and out of the hopper. make sure nothing has fallen inside or under the disc and causing a jam up. Good luck, the wizard.

Thank you for the info, after seeing your post, I checked again, and it appears to be the brake at the back causing it to stop.
See attached image, The shaft or spindle on the motor has some movement in and out towards the motor.  If I push it in a bit and engage the switch to disable the brake, I can turn it.
If I don't push in on the spindle and just disable the brake, it catches and keeps it locked.  It seems like a washer should be between the blue brake engagement and the bracket to stop the shaft from moving in and out?

I ended up pulling off the back and there are some washers against the blue brake catch.  I was able to add another and can now get the hopper test to work.  Will likely have to play with it a bit, but it does function.  Thanks again for the help.
