MEI Cashflow SCN6628R used in a computer.

Hi, I have to count about $10k to $15k of donations every month, most of it in $1 bills. I cannot use a regular bill counter because the bills came all folded and crumpled. Last week I used a supermarket auto service and I was surprised how fast was the bill aceptor.

I was thinking of using a MEI Cashflow SCN6628R connected to a computer. So I can count the bills using it. , any thoughts?

Best regards.

Stayouttadabunker:
That MEI unit has an USB connector.
You can easily plug it into a computer but wouldn't you need a program for the computer to recognize the acceptor?  :scratch-head_3:

dbmello75:
Thank you for the quick answer. But will the USB power on the device??? Or do I still need another power supply?

I've found this post

rickhunter:
You still need power.  USB is only for coms.

dbmello75:
I've ordered a power supply.

Still need a way to get the results from the bill acceptor to the computer. I will try the Python script, but I'm open to ideas.

Thank you all.

PS: I will keep you guys updated if I make it work.
