Stayouttadabunker:
oh ok...good...could you tell us what you had to do?
That way I can mark your topic as Solved.
It could help someone in the future looking for help bench testing an Epic 950 printer.
Thanks!

Of course, I have taken several actions to be able to make it work. At first I was trying with a USB/SUB9 Ftdi cable, and I couldn't communicate. I installed a PCI board with standard serial ports and a SUB9 cable and it communicated but I had no response from the printer, but I did take out the ticket.
Then I saw in a you tube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8jw36YUWWU&ab_channel=TransActTechnologies
In it they tell you about putting the switch on the number 7, and this did not work for me if I put the 7 on, until I realized that activating the 4 and the 2, is the correct combination to be able to have total communication in bidirectional mode and also the status, such as the serial number and version loaded on the machine.
I hope it is helpful to someone else
Thanks for your help.
