Title: wba 10 doesnt initialize
Post by: puckhead on March 02, 2020, 07:06:40 PM
wba10 in an igt i game video.  doesnt intitalize, no leds by the dips.  gets 13v to the unit.  here is what i noticed. disconnecting  the 5 wire connector in the pic allows it to spin up and i get one led by the dips. hook it up, its dead?   see pic
thanks

Did this unit ever work in the machine? Sounds like you have a comm issue indicating the WBA CPU board is either the wrong protocol or bad. All dips should be in the off position for normal operation.

not sure if this is best for the bill validator forum or the i game forum.  i now have 2 leds lit on the bill acceptor. all dips off. i do a nexplex auto config, i hear it cycle,  and it says installed. still doesnt work, or cycle on start up.  if i try to read the crc, i get an error, no crc . if i clear the error, redo the auto netplex, i still get no crc. its a wba-10-ss , USA-601-24  . hand written stickers says ido 24 v 3.00  .  is it a config error in another menu, SAS or some other?

thanks

Just because the sticker says ido 24 v 3.00 doesn't mean that is what is on the unit.  A lot of times dealer overwrite the firmware and don't write it down.  It sounds like you have a com error.  WBA 10's a crap anyway, you should be using at least a 12/13 since the 10's don't accept all the newer colored bills.
