Title: BB1.5\BB2 Where is the game validation data stored during installation?
Post by: devron11 on June 13, 2017, 09:50:13 AM
I want to save my progress on a particular episodic BB1\BB2 game but still to be able to play other titles. I would do this by removing the electronics ( the cpu\hard drive board and the backplane board and what ever else may be involved ) that holds the progress and validation data. Install another set of components, run the ram clear and install the new game title. Play that game. Remove those components and then reinstall the original components but do not run a ram clear. I would expect that the game would boot up and be happy.
Is this possible?
Have I identified the two components that hold the validation data?
Are there others involved?

Thanks

So you want to play different games and instead of RAM clearing, you're swapping CPU/Backplane?

It's possible, the game data is saved on non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) on the cpu, and the cpu is paired to the backplane. Data will be saved as long as you have good lithium batteries on the cpu.

As long as you keep the cpu/backplane together, you should be able to do what you're wanting.
