Title: 3902 problem
Post by: smoothgrh on July 05, 2017, 08:52:13 AM
i just bought a 3902 board and all I see are different color screens: https://youtu.be/UdhUWPrLA0Q (https://youtu.be/)
(Ignore the monitor problem—that's an unrelated issue.)

The chips all appear to be properly seated. I swapped with the original 3902 board and it booted fine. I called the seller and he assured me that the board was the same one he tested and used to make screenshots.

Any ideas on something that could be causing this?

Thank you!

That is so weird—I get the same problem. It's the correct link, but when I click it, I go to the YouTube home page.

Anyway, the video is on YouTube entitled "Monster Mansion not booting."

Sorry for the inconvenience!

See if this works..

From what I saw, I think you need to leave the machine to do a complete boot up cycle.. Looks like you shut it off before it had finished.. Sometimes a new board can take longer with new software combination to boot up the first time.. Give it a minute or longer.. From what I saw and timed, you didn't even give it a full 30 seconds..

Hey,

So true,  I have several boards and one takes over a minute to boot, others 10-15 seconds.

Oh! My other 3902 boards load within a few seconds so I feared the worst! I'm getting my flyback replaced so I'll report back when I get my monitor returned.

Thank you!

Now that I finally have a semi-working monitor, I can see that the 3902 Monster Mansion board requires 1 minute, 40 seconds to reach the "System Initializing" screen. My other boards load within 10 seconds!
