Title: S+ 16mhz boards with wba13
Post by: GOS on August 18, 2017, 06:16:15 AM
have 16mhz boards with SP1272 and type 0  SS chips - cannot get the BV to accept ANY bills.  Bills are held for several seconds then rejected.
have done set
using wba 3.75-03I  (works with the 10mhz board)
Game works with 10mhz boards and same wba13 setup
bit switch 1 on the wba has no effect.
I have 4 boards that do exactly the same thing.
I want to use up my 16mhz boards.

SP1272 uses ID-023 for communication with the bill validator.

What SP chip is on the 10mhz boards? They may have an SP chip that uses a different BV comm protocol, like ID-022. The comm protocol ID number on your BV software has to match the comm protocol ID number used by the mpu board SP chip.

If this is the problem your WBA may have a dipswitch that selects between ID-022 and ID-023.

the 10mhz use sp1271 which is id023
the 16mhz use sp1272 which is id023
the id023 is bitswx 1 off
on or off no change.

With the WBA set up installed was a full ram clear and BV activation completed?

no i did not do a clear - just a set
when a Set is run - the info that is updated is the coinage and that a bv is present
where is that info stored?  on the EEPROM?
