Title: Another question about my IGT Game King. Video Poker

I did a search for this subject and maybe I'm not imputing the question properly.
Is there a way to put the GK to "Sleep" while not being used?

I have been turning on the power to the GK whenever I wish to play it and on a few occasions it showed a Call Attendant message and it said the circuit board (Flash) was bad.
This happened again on Saturday.

I turned it off and restarted it and tried to gently push the circuit board drawer back just a bit to make sure it was completely seated.
I tried to turn it off at the switch below the bill validator and then I re-plugged it into the wall outlet.

Eventually it started up again and worked like it should. I've had it "On" for the past three days cause I'm leery about shutting it off again.

Is there a way to put it into a "Sleep" mode like I do with my laptop ? That would keep the circuit board energized but the lights and screen would be dark.

Does turning it on by plugging it in again or leaving it plugged in and using the inside switch cause the board to suffer damage from the sudden electrical imput?
I sure don't want to damage it and a replacement board is a pricey event that I do not want to experience.
Any suggestions?

Wish I could have found this subject on the forum and maybe it's actually there but I simply don't know how to word it to find the subject. If so, Sorry....
Thanks to all.

I don't know if any slot machine has a "sleep" mode because they are designed to be "ON" in casinos, 24/7.

Next time you get the error, post the exact message you are getting.  There's a workaround for those kinds of errors and it involves changing a chip, if you you have is an 044 system (the software on a flashboard with a single eprom on it, the flashboard sits on top of the main mpu board).

Rickhunter,Yes, it's an 044 board.
If I turn it off and get the message when I turn it on again next time, I'll copy it down exactly or take a photo of the screen to post.
Thanks,Keats Phoenix,
