Title: Ceronix 1905LCD Touchscreen - I think I found my problem
Post by: thegarse on September 20, 2022, 09:50:01 AM
I'm pretty sure I'm the cause by overhandling the sides of this monitor. When I manhandled it I felt the main glass contact (pictured) become squishy. I peeled back and cleaned off some tape and sure enough it was moving back and forth.

The question is, how do I reconnect these, make little solder balls and use a rework station (heat gun?). Should I use kapton tape? Looking for help from someone who refurbishes touchscreens.

Thanks!

I tried the heat gun approach and the contacts on the glass (while appear to be metal since I get continuity on opposite sides of the pads) will not absorb any solder. I guess I need a new glass or monitor.
