Title: To switch or not to switch? Please advise
Post by: RiseLikeRa on October 16, 2014, 08:26:20 AM

Oh wise ones:

I have a problem.  My DEAL button on my Fortune Coin 21 machines that tells the player to start the game after dropping in a coin is not lighting up.  I changed the bulb with the same result.  I also pulled the panel and checked the voltage going to the button housing.  Once the machine is coined, the voltage increased which told me that the problem is in the housing (photo #1).  I have a housing from a slightly newer Fortune 1 (photo #2)  The newer housing allows the button to sit flush with the control panel where the older housing kept the button sitting up a little.

Since I dont have an exact replacement of photo #1 will #2 work?  I would hate to do all of that tedious soldering and the housing is wired differently inside.  What are your thoughts?

Been there, done that, it should work just fine.

Bad:

Thank you so much for the reply.  Next time I am in Vegas I am going to buy you and Larry lunch.  I would LOVE to find some small female connectors for all of those pins.  Maye a trip to Radio Shack is in order.  I am excited.  BTW the Electro Mech person got back to me.  He told me $250 for 1 socket without hesitation!  Perhaps later in the week the old soldering gun will heat up.

Thank you again for your knowledge and continued wonderful advice.
